XD fans rejoice

as a bill sponsored by Rand Paul to end warrantless raids on farms by the one Federal agency that carries XDs is defeated.  If you are a farmer selling unregulated milk, watch out for the raids by FDA agents, Buddy!

Meanwhile, no other federal agency carries XDs.  I wouldn't be surprised if the sworn, packing officers of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners do but no word on the street as of yet on what they pack.

I note that only Republicans thought a militarized FDA is a bad idea.....  Maybe there is hope yet for the GOP.

The assault on Romney

Note:  I don't particularly care for Romney.  I consider him a right leaning moderate just as I consider Obama a left leaning moderate.  However, less than two weeks ago, the WaPo (Washington Post) published a piece on Romney committing an act of bullying (in hish school, before he was old enough to drink).  Today, the ever prescient Reason noted that his Mormonism really isn't that big of a deal to the voters.

However......the WaPo, not a paper to give up on a political bias, today attempting to draw attention to a few people in Arkansas whose ancestors were the victims of the Mountain Meadows Massacre.  What does this have to with Romney?  Well....Mormons committed murders (there is no doubt) 150 years ago.  Romney is a Mormon.  Get it?!

I know that media bias is to be expected but it never gets less repugnant.

Folks, if you truly want a fresh take on the news, check Reason's Hit and Run blog every day.  It's a nice break after trying to balance out Fox and the rest.
