He looks like my son or brother, President Obama

President Obama weighed in on the Sanford, Florida tragedy in which a neighborhood watch captain legally carrying a concealed handgun, shot an unarmed black teen was innocent of any misdeeds.

From the article regarding Obama's remarks:

"And he obliquely addressed the racial component
of the case, saying it struck home for him because,
"If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon."

So....what if the kid had not looked like Obama's progeny?  What if he had looked like a relative of mine (I'm a white male)?  These two British tourists were found shot to death with their pants around their ankles in Florida.  They were white; their murderer is black.  This white 13 year old was doused with gasoline and set on fire by two black teenagers.  He could have been my son.

Maybe it's Vice President Biden's job to call the parents of white hate crime victims?

I would sure like to have the statistics for how many black youths were killed by black youths that day.  I hope their parents got phone calls from Obama.

Maybe Obama should stay out of this awful tragedy.  I don't think race was a problem but I do think the neighborhood watch captain manufactured a situation in which he had to use deadly force.  Much like the Weber-Morgan County (Utah) Narcotics "Strike Force" shooting this man to death in his own home for walking out (sleep befuddled) into his own living room with a golf club because he heard someone crash through his front door.

  1. It's largely pseudo-caring. Every comment made, even when it's misguided, is politically motivated.
